2010 School Field Trips

We hope you are off to a great start for this school year.  Bush-N-Vine Farm is a working farm located at 1650 Filbert Highway, York, SC.  We are planning our 2010 Fall Field Trips for K-4 through Third Grade, and hope you will include us in your schedule.

Our field trips will have the HONEYBEE as the theme for this year.  We look forward to instructing the students in the importance of the honeybee on the farm and in agriculture in general. We have a new observation hive available this year for the students to view the “busy bee.”  The field trip will include a working beaver dam, a tour of our fall strawberry field, and the pumpkin patch, where the students will be able to see pumpkins actually growing in the field. Our field trips meet the South Carolina Teaching Standards.

We will host one field trip per day, which will be by appointment only and will begin Monday, September 27 through Friday, October 29.  The cost of the field trip is $6.00 per student and guests.  There is no charge for teachers.  Each student will receive a personal size pumpkin and each class will receive a large pumpkin for carving.  The field trips will begin promptly at 9:15 am and will last 1 hour and 45 minutes. We also have a picnic area!  Please contact Susan Hall at susan@bushnvinefarm.com or call 803-627-5919 for further information or to schedule your 2010 tour.
